VIDEO: Civil and Human Rights Community Rallies in Support of the Voting Rights Act

Earlier this week, on February 27, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Shelby County v. Holder, a case challenging the constitutionality of a key provision of the Voting Rights Act – Section 5. Section 5 is the heart of the Act and a critical and proven tool to protect the right to vote for many Americans.

On the day of oral arguments, hundreds of people from around the country joined civil and human rights groups for a rally outside the Court in Washington, D.C., to demonstrate the broad support for the nation’s most important and successful civil rights law.
